THanks guys!!!!! Today I tightened up the SharkBar so thats all done. I need to replace the regulator with one that has a functional return. I think I have all the parts for the stainless braided lines. Just need a slow weekend day to do it. I dont want to start it without having everything and a full day to deal with it. Everything is fine without it but its a good idea to preserve the fuel pump

Oh , And if I power shift from first to second it grinds...I need to bleed it tomorrow to see if there might be some air in there. Probably not since it doesnt grind any other times at all

Still havent checked the hydraulic clutch...maybe tomorrow before the Elks Club show. Ive been taking it easy and it hasnt been an issue. When I get the TKX Im sending this back to McLeod to get looked over and repaired, Its a great cruising tranny and can be raced at 400 hp and Torque but I think its just not up to high rpm shifts with torque. Theres no sense breaking it so I wont hurt it and get it fixed and pass it along to the next guy that needs a good 5 speed. IT ran great all weekend. Went on another long road trip to a show, 2 hours each way so Im happy that shes running so well.
I did get eh wiper park switch taken apart and adjusted...works great as it should. i also had to reassemble a wiper arm...kind of a hassle
Today I took off the hardtop and went for an afternoon cruise. Took a short video for the sound. Theres a few instances where I matte dth go pedal but theres no high rpm shifts and no clutch drops...just all torque grunt. I used my phone which liked to focus on the phone holder occasionally so just enjoy it for the engine noises and the faint gear whine from the gear drive timing gear
good noise at 2:11, 2:57, 4:09, 4:40 to the end

Me too, probably closer to 17 cause I like when the tires break loose which is pretty easy now.....even when I don't want too. Just trying to be quick to get into traffic or out of thee way. It feels good to have so much power when it's needed.

Vintage air, body and paint touch ups, electric actuators for the hood and deck lid, nitrous just because ( no one said you need to use it...lol) and the next thing is the TKX for peace of mind

JUst bought the TKX...on my way home from a chow only 10 miles away and it was starting to have issues in 3rd gear. Once I get the TKX installed Im sending the McLeod back in to be completely rebuilt then I will sell it. Its been a great tranny when I only had 430 hp so it will be great for the next person as well. Its only 3/4 of inch difference so it just requires a tiny bit of mods top the tranny mount plate and the drive shaft.

The TKX showed up today..YAYYYYY! I ordered the 1350 yoke which I need to get the driveshaft built. Once it shows up I should have the driveshaft 2 or 3 days later. It will be 1350 yoke in the front and a 1330 in the rear.
Hopefully the tunnel is wide enough at the yoke. I also ordered a Qwik Stick offset shifter as well. Tomorrow Im pulling the McLeod and boxing it up and getting the measurement for the hydraulic throwout bearing

I could run up there "real fast" and modify the tunnel in that area if the new driveshaft
makes a bumpety-bump noise @ 140 MPH

If the TKX is same as TKO you should have 3/8" clear at yoke. I needed to shave a little on my '75 because i have a little more floor thickness at the Catalytic converter heat shealding at passenger side. ( the converter has been long gone, maybe 40yrs,)
Why a hydro clutch,, or do you already have one installed. My 'Z' linkage is still workin great. I instal them on customer cars only because of the headers they want, But everyone has a reason. 😁

I hope you are right about the 1350 clearing.
If so that solves my concerns.

At several places in my Tremec installation instructions it said to shift the transmission through all the gears before installing because the shift dogs in the trans could get dislodged during shipping.
If it doesn’t shift into all gears, the instructions include the simple fix.

I saw that on Stay Tuned. They went over it. I will have to put a shift lever on it to check it out. On that show it was locked up because it was stuck in 2 gears. Mine spins freely, still in nuetral so I'm not worried.
My yoke is supposed to be here Wednesday.

Took the tranny out in just under 2 hours. My buddy was over and he took my shifter off the old tranny and put it on the TKX to test it. It was in gear but wouldnt shiftJust four T30 bolts and a little push and it was ready to go. Super simple fix
You can see the right side was slid forward
Ready to go, shifts like butter

Hmmm...
Yours does not look like mine.
Did you get the TKX version with the rear mounted, 2" left-offset Corvette specific shifter?

Now I bought one seperate. It's cheaper that way. Qwik Sticks...im cutting and welding the transmission mount...saves another $150. $150 for a cheap bracket....and that's the cheap one...
This is how it looked custom shortened for the McLeod 5 speed
The back was shortened as well
TKX mods
Slicing it up
The center is how much needed to go
New length
Enough gap now.
I need to weld it back together now
