Default Chevy 350

I've always wondered this, whats the difference between the different chevy 350 small blocks, other than fuel delivery/intake method. As in, whats different about the blocks themselves? Are parts easily interchangeable between all chevy 350's around the same period?

I would say yes as I did a bunch. Stroke and larger crank journals than early 327's. Late 327 had large journal crank.

pretty much yes,
as mentioned, early blocks can have a smaller crank mains for small journaled crankshafts.

later engines have subtle changes in oil dipstick sides and rears seal changes.

latest vers have different heads with different manifolds and roller camshafts.

What are you looking at?

Nothing in particular, just out of curiosity and incase I ever need to swap something. So how would I go about knowing if something from another 350 would fit mine? Is there a way to tell other than going out there and taking measurements?

Most everything on a Gen1 Chev small block interchanges. There are 4 bolt main blocks. and 2 bolt main blocks.
The 4 bolt main blocks most consider to be the better of the two.
Just because it fits doesn't nessesary mean you want it however!
Corvettes have a specific waterpump, and other accessories. A lot of heads will fit. But you don't want them.
And the list go's on.
