Default Really needing some answers on purchasing a c3

Help all the smart vette owners. I have found what i believe is a rare car but not really understanding how to find out what I really have. My friend helps families clean out sheds, storage etc. Called me as I love cars. Has an original 1975 stringray conver with only 11k miles. That is not what doesnt make sense to me. This is supposed to be one that was sent to nickey from the factory. This car has a factory 454, 4 speed, a/c Everything is clean and perfect. Has side pipes etc. Everything a normal c3 did not come with . The family that owns it said the dad bought it new. He says he has all the documents but is suffering from dementia. Please help me know what to do.. Thanks.

1975s would not have a 454. So there are a few options:
1. It’s a correct 75 with a 350
2. It’s a correct previous year car (70-74) with a 454
3. It’s not correct.

This is why I’m so confused. Vin says 1975. Owners says it went thru a nickey upgrade

Picture of the motor and does he have any documentation in regards to the motor change?
The tag on the console is most likely from a 71 LS6.

I saw a very beautiful red '75 Corvette convertible, 454 4-speed A/C car maybe 12 years ago at an auction. It was a conversion from Nickey Speedshop in Chicago. Nickey Chevrolet was sold in 1973, and became Keystone Chevrolet. The speedshop kept the Nickey name and built Hi-Performance Chevys until 1977 when the speed/performance shop finally closed its doors. If you decide to buy the car, ask for all of the documentation the owner has. If you have more pictures, I would very much enjoy seeing them. Thanks for posting.

So, while this may be a nice car it is simply a "converted" car with a GM supplied engine that will not have matching numbers.
And yes the console engine CID/horsepower tag can be purchased from any of the vendors.
Still sounds like a cool car but not really "rare", more like "customized".
