Default 69 suspension replacement question

I am planning on replacing my upper and lower a-arms with a nice factory replacement set I got back a few years ago. Im also going to have them replace the rest of the front suspension and shocks with a factory setup. All the rubber is dry rotted and one of the lower a arms has a substantial ding on it from original owner hitting something with it. This is all on my big block ac car with 60k miles.
When I initially mentioned this to my repair shop. The guy was kinda overly animated about the replacing the original springs and said they were cheap at the any autozone/napa etc. If the springs are not physically broke, is there any way to tell if they need to be replaced? The car is factory height in the front currently.
Do you just have to assume, that if you doing all this work, you might as well replace the front springs? I have had quite a bit of experience with replacement springs that end up not being correct and looking different and changing ride height so I was a little worried about getting new ones.
I want to keep my car factory original as possible.
thanks
jim

I would keep the factory springs to avoid any ride height problems.

If the ride height is correct you could keep the original springs. Seeing the car has a ding in the A arm I would be checking the spindle on that side as well, quite often they get deformed where the ball joints fit in. FWIW the aftermarket springs are a lot easier to fit than the originals and you can get the same ride height as original with the correct ones.

IMHO,,, If ride height is what you want it to be now,, dont mess with the springs.

Can the springs cleaned up and powder-coated? Then they would look better (with all your other new parts) while maintaining your ride height....
