Please be aware of Hantavirus. It is spread from wild rodents, particularly mice and rats, to people. The virus, which is found in rodent urine, saliva, and feces, can be easily released in the air in confined spaces when disturbed by rodents or human activities, such as sweeping or vacuuming. Wear gloves and a mask while cleaning this stuff up.
The good news is that you have a BEAUTIFUL C3, and it will be fine when you get the issue sorted. And I appreciate you sharing. We just had our garages re-done by an organizing company that also did the floors. I haven't put traps back out and I'm going to do that today.

I kept a cat in my shop and had my vette on a lift about 1 foot above the floor. Started the car and when I turned it off there was water dripping from the drivers side. Well, the battery was on the passenger side and that couldn't be it nor any other liquids on the drivers side.
SO what I found was a mother cat and babies who made a home way back on the drivers side.
Another was our cat deciding she would keep warm in front of the fan blade and against the radiator. Well I started and was off to work, but coming out of the drive I heard this screating noise. It was the cat cut up (but alive ) that jumped thru the blade. The blade was a sharp flex fan. Gets worse the cat jumped into my belts and I had to take the belts off while all her poop and pee were coming out.
She lived.
I now have a live rat trap I made and with some peanut butter will do the job.
Then, I find a field and they are on their own.

Welcome to the club...my mouse died in a C5 ventilation system. Took a dash removal and 2 years to get rid of the smell. I put three ultrasonic mouse repellers around in the garage and use 2 baited live traps outside. Catch 1-2 a week and give them a free ride to the recycle place but I know they breed much faster than I catch them. So far this has worked.
Good luck...all his buddy's smell where they can live now.
Beautiful Corvette. Shame about that mouse. If you should find the memories of this whole ordeal troubling, the mere sight of that Black corvette could be traumatizing. If that happens, you're welcome to store it in my mouse-free garage. I'll even warm it up for you once in a while.

Stop stumping on the gas pedal. I am sure a better pic of the area would help.
My very basic understanding, basically you feather the edges, roughen everything then add some Matt soaked rain in layers in both directions to reinforce the area. Sand smooth and your good to go.
As in post #3, wear gloves, facemask, but you are not done yet. You need to disinfect the floor-pan and seats before installing dynamat.

Most mouse repellents are a joke and are short term.
Mice wash up with Irish Spring before going to bed.
Their bed is made up of Dryer Sheets so they can bounce up & down.
Don't waste your time.
The only repellent that truly works is Grandpa's Mouse Repellent. It contains an ingredient that mice really-really hate; Peppermint Oil.
Found the kit on Amazon, comes in a spray bottle and the non-offensive aroma lasts for several weeks.

Grind the cracks down from top and bottom so the crack opens up to 1/4 - 1/2 inch, feather the grinding a few inches from the crack put some tape on the underside so it doesn't sag. Lay new glass from both sides. Cleaning everything up and putting it back together is the time consuming part. The grinding and laying new glass will only take an hour or so. Laying glass on the underside is a bit messy. Wear a good mask when grinding, you don't want to breath any fibers. If you use epoxy resin and are in a ventilated space, you shouldn't need a respirator. If you use a polyester resin, you will absolutely want a respirator. Got the repair technique from body/paint guru DUB.
When you get in there you'll find all sorts of "while I'm here" things to fix. I was missing about half the rivets between the birdcage behind the seats and the fiberglass seat well. I laid a different product than Dynamat that works really well. was easy to work with and less than 1/2 the cost.

This was one of the small repairs. I had several much larger cracks. It's all solid now.
