Hello all. After being a lurker here and many other forums for years using the search for help to mostly reference photos, historic data and such for work, I’ve purchased an 81 vette, 4 speed, 25k mile, collection kept car. You’ll see in the pics I need a t-top but you dont see the damage on the other side From side swiping a barrier wall(don’t have those handy). You’ll also notice the L82 badge that don’t belong. I figured I may be asking a few questions that normally don’t come up with my direct profession so I may as well join up. I’ve been in custom paint and body for around 25 years. I’ve only ever been involved with high end custom and restoration paint and body with a few years in collision or as we say “crash shops”. Lately I finally went on my own and have been mainly doing work on investment grade European cars, Ferraris, Alfas, Aston Martin and so on. I’ve worked on two c3 cars in the past, and two c2. I’m no corvette specialist, hell I’m no specialist in in any car but maybe I can help others here in paint and body related questions. I have general knowledge of cars as one must when having to completely disassemble and reassemble a car. So that’s me. Cheers!
Welcome aboard. Nice looking car especially the red inside. I suppose that is what mine USED TO look like a few years ago before I tore it up. Still haven't put it back so yours is a nice reminder. And it appears you have a great attitude. You will be an asset to this group.
