I really don’t want to start a new thread on Fiero seats but I have questions I can’t find answers for. I have researched past posting in both General and Technical and a lot of good information but I still have question.
I have installed the drivers seat using plates to adapt the seat using 68 seat tracks the seat sets in front higher then what I like.
First question has anyone used stock Fiero seat tracks?
Next has anyone mounted the seats directly to the floor no tracks?
What I’m thinking of doing is fabricate plates following the floor contour using existing track mounting holes and then mount the seats to these plates using Fiero seat tracks. If that creates problem getting to the bolt that attaches the track to the plate. Next option using the same plates bolted to the Fiero seat track and bolt to the floor from under the car.
Very likely other way to install the Fiero seats to a C3 I’m open to subjections
Right now it looks like the Fiero seats are the choice for replacement seats.
That’s the Video that I use for information fabricating the mounting plates, the deviation from the design was the plate thickness and mounting bolts. I went with 5/16” plate which gave me more threads for holding the track. I also went with countersink holes for mounting the plate to the seats just my preference.

They fit real nice and I need to be careful on what seats will fit in my car. The drivers side is not much of a problem but the passenger side is a different issue. I reworked the tunnel so that I could install a Hone-O-Drive overdrive unit that required me making the tunnel wider on both sides and taller. The drivers side about 1/4” wider passenger side 3/4” wider and 2” taller so seat fit is an issue for me.
with any seat, make sure it fits and you can stand getting in and out plus sitting in it before you pay for new upholstery. fiero seats are great. look good and fit good. problem is all the fieros are either restored or junked by now...
I agree, that’s what I’m working on right now. I have the drivers seat mounted and I like the look but not real happy with the clearance when getting in and out of the car. There out there I just picked up a pair yesterday at a pick and pull salvage yard.

No kidding. I'm shopping for some light, HP seats, and i've not seen a Fiero in a junkyard in over 20 years. Hell... i cant even bring to mind one sitting in a driveway somewhere.
I think I was lucky the Fiero had only been there a week or so. I found $2,64 in change under the seats. The seats cost me 40 Bucks and only took about 20 minuets to pull out. The bolts holding the seats were rust free and the tracks are in great shape. I'm going to use the tracks that came with the seats. The early Corvette seat tracks in good condition are worth a lot more.

Not 100% sure on this, but check your measurements using the Fiero tracks vs. the Corvette seat tracks.......the Fiero tracks may position the seat slightly higher if you use the bracket kit bars.
I’m using the stock Fiero seat tracks, I’m mounting the front mount on the same centerline as the original seat track. The Fiero mounts are 2” narrow I’m going to tack weld steel plates on the original Corvette mounting plates that are riveted to the floor. The back mounts will be bolted to a 2” wide plate that goes from side to side and anchors to the floor pan similar to the stock seat track.
Please post your results for getting the Fiero seats as low as possible. I just picked up a pair myself but won’t be messing with them for a bit. Bought them just because they popped up locally…..

watch the video posted above. he has had a lot of practice putting these seats in and has a very good design for 2 steel plates. raising the seats about 1/4 inch.
I mounted the drivers seat using the information in the video, but after picking up a pair of seats from a local Pick and Pull Salvage yard which had seat track attached and in great shape I thought i would try and mount the complete seat assembly. I have finished mounting the passenger seat and I like what it looks like compared to the drivers side. With the Fiero seat track I have more forward movement of about 2 1/2 inches which will help getting thing in and out of back storage area. The height of the seat measures about the sane as the drivers seat. Tomorrow I plan on changing out the drivers side to mount it the same as the passenger side.
Money wise using the Fiero seat track frees up one OEM seat track witch has more value about 4 to 5 time what I paid for the seats.
If anyone is interested I can post pictures of the installation.

so, you juar drilled the vette floor where the fiero track lined up?
Not exactly on the Fiero the seat tracks are narrower and shorter then the OEM seat track. I mounted the front bolts on the same centerline as the original seat track and fabricated a mounting plate for the rear mounting bolts. The rear mounting plate was then bolted to the floor using mounting plates similar to what original mounting plates under the floor. I will try and attach pictures showing the mounting information.
If anyone has question please ask.
Just finish installation of the Drivers seat using the Fiero seat track's I like how everything came out. I practiced getting in and out of the drivers seat with telescopic steering column and 14" steering wheel it was easer then what I thought it would be. With the cloth seat cover there was drag on my clothing getting in, at this time I think I will be going with leather seat covers presuming it would be easer getting in and out.
If someone with leather seat covers would please let me know if my assumption is correct I would appreciate the feedback. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...deea724a6c.jpg

I have leather seat covers and there is no dragging on clothes. Just slide in and out and remember not to leave it parked in the sun on hot days.

Whats with the aluminum lever by the passenger's leg? Relocated E-brake?
