Default wiper problem

Wipers don't work. Door cover opens and then nothing. 72 454. Has new wiper motor (bench tested) and fuse is good. Any ideas on most probable cause? Where do I start? Thanks for input.

Did it work before or ???
Check for power going to the switch for the door opening and check for power on the other side with the switch triggered.

This switch, if there is power going into the switch then check to see if it goes through when the switch is activated by the door, if it doesn't get power through, try tripping the switch manually with a screwdriver or something, if it works manually you might need to adjust that stop bolt to be a bit farther in.

If there's power through that switch then it's a problem at the motor, double check the ground and the power wire.

Also make sure the switch in the dash is grounded, frequently that's an issue

Thanks for the input. Don't know history. Recently bought car. File has receipt for new wiper motor and says "bench tested before shipping". Will follow your advice.

That's an excellent point, always check the obvious first

My wipers only failed to work one time, I checked for power at the switch posted by Mooser and had "No Power". I knew I had the override switch in the correct position. I removed the override switch and I had power on the feed side, but none on the side going to the door open switch. It turned out that the contacts in the override switch were dirty. I took it part, cleaned the contacts and that fixed the problem.
Good luck.
