Data Spec Plate

I have seen many data spec plates for sale and am curious if they were OEM from the factory. Where they an option? Thinking about putting one on my 80 L82

as far as I know, stock factory item.
I don't know when the factory stopped.
I would like to know.

I sort of thought they stopped using them when they changed the consoles in 77 ???

I'm not 100 percent sure myself. But I think 76 was the end. I've had my 77 a loooooong time.
Absolutely certain that my early 77 did not come with one.
So I am certain there is no " Correct " one for OP's car.

Console Engine Identification Plate

1976 was the last year for the engine identification plate.

Early 1975 L48s used the cubic-inch style plate used in the early years. Late 75 and 76 used the plate with the RPO .
