Default Hardtop Gap Question

There are a few gaps between the bright work and the fiberglass in the rear window of the hardtop. When restoring, would you fill those or leave them as is? See the video link below for more. I appreciate any constructive feedback you can offer.

Link just worked for me. Gaps do look excessive especially at the lower corners. Not sure how to fix...let's see what the experts say.

I had the same issue on a top I purchased. I didn’t want to take off the chrome for fear of breaking the clips. I masked the chrome using vinyl smooth edge tape then carefully filled the space with bondo. Took my time to sand it scrape it with a razor blade, especially against the chrome/tape. I’m satisfied……and….I am for sure no expert.

thanks for the reply and photo. Nice job on that. I think I’ll fill the gaps, just because that window (no pun intended) is open. Maybe I’ll fill it around the entire edge, so all the trim fits the same.

This is an opportunity to make it “better than new,” since some aspects of these cars were a little rough off the assembly line.
