Default Top Flight complete seats??

Has anyone used the complete seats from Top Flight? Only considering because my 74 has 76-78 seats. The track is broken on driver side, bolts broken in seat bolt that allow you to adjust the recline, springs are weak, covers junk and foam is as well. They are pretty much are junk. I’ve tried to find some correct 74 seats locally with no success. Ran across the complete seats that Top Flight offers today and added them to my cart. Was hoping someone has went this route and could share their experience.

I have and I'm not very happy.

I ordered the leather seats complete package for my 1970.
The new seats sit higher and more forward towards the steering wheel. Unless you have tilt steering, these new seats make getting into the car a real adventure (and I'm 5'10"). I can only speak for the 100% leather package, I don't know if the same thing will happen with the other choices (vinyl, leather-like). I'm thinking of having the foam re-done, I know a local furniture maker who does car seats also.

I didn't return them because the return shipping would be insane and I don't know if Top Flight would have accepted the return after so long after I bought them (it was at least a few months, my car was in the shop doing some mechanical and interior maintenance).

You should speak to them and ask what their return policy is and ...... get it on paper!

In the meantime, I re-did the vinyl on the original seats and put them back for now.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Do you feel it was the seat frame or possibly the new foam that changed your seating position? I would actually be ok with sitting up a bit. I also do have tilt and telescopic.

The frame is supposed to be a duplicate of the original.
It just felt like the foam was beefier and stiffer.

In the meantime I re-did the old seats, ordered new foam and new vinyl like the original seats. No problem. Fit like a glove.
As for the leather package new seats, I'm going to shave a bit of the foam off and it should be ok. But still man, I shouldn't have to tweak anything at that price point. I dropped like $2,500 for the set.

Maybe it's a different density foam on the complete new package, or the leather needs time to break in and soften up (which I doubt). I don't know.

There's a couple of threads in here where a few people also claim that height is an issue with new foam. Here's one:

Maybe I just wasn't lucky with what I bought. Too bad, because they are gorgeous. I have them in storage for now.
Maybe you will not have any issues at all. I'm just sharing my experience.

Like I said, bring it to the attention of Top Flight and see what they say if you're not completely satisfied.
