Pretty simple. Essentially a platform for the body to rest on with an “outrigger” to support the front. Use 2x6s as you’re supporting roughly 800 lbs.

I just winged mine based on length/width measurements of the chassis.
made out of 4x4’s and 2x6’s. With casters from HF and purchasing the wood from HD, the thing still tips the scales right at $300.00.

Missing from the pic are the risers that got added once the body was sitting on some cross bars that I put there temporarily to hold it at the height I wanted it. I put the risers at all body mount points.
However much it weighs with the body on top, I was able to push it up the hill between garages in my driveway w/my son tuggin’ and me pushin’. At the height it’s at, I have access to the underside, and a fairly clear path to being able to get the greasy pig clean underneath, but it puts the roof at about the 6’ high level.

Here's the link to my short thread about a tall body dolly to allow easier access to the underside of the body. Measurements (imperial not metric) are in post #3.

I answered your PM, but now I see you have a '76. Mine is a '71, so the measurements might change a bit - be sure to verify them for your project.

Good luck!

Paul

I just measured up the body mount points and replicated that on a wooden frame with casters on it, sorry, no pics. One thing I would caution is to make sure you support the nose, also, the bonded joint at the firewall will stress over time if the nose is hanging. I put an outrigger from the chassis buck out to the radiator support.

Exactly what I was looking for.
Alan did an update to his original design where he added the front support under the radiator.
I guess I can figure that out on my own.
Thanks!
