I have a 82 Vette and the cigarette lighter is not working. I checked and the wire going to it, It's plugged in. I only want it working so that I can plug an adapter into it to charge my phone off of it. All my other accessories seem to be working. Radio, Inside lighting, Blower fans. Can anyone tell we what fuse is tied to my lighter? Not sure which on to check.
Voltmeter.
Touch / probe the center nub of the socket, and the outer casing to get a reading.
The fuse panel should be clearly marked "Lghtr" or something like that. And most likely a 20 amp.
I bet the socket is good, lighter is shot. From past experience with accessories and / or adaptors, most do not fit correctly into the socket for a good contact.

If you just want to charge your phone, there are many better options, once you find a hot wire.. I put this in my 80. Others have hidden the USB ports even more creatively.
