Moving headlights to lower valance
Myself, I had given the headlight design serious thought back a decade ago when I had the car completely apart. I imagined the headlight doors hinged at the front so they would drop down at the back to expose a light source. Benefits:
1) stock look when up
2) no bug eyed look when headlights are in use.
3) no vibration problem
4) simpler mechanicals
5) significant weight savings
6) no fiberglass shaping as is required in the above.
At the time I decided this was way beyond my fabrication skills and I didn't really know how to put together a bar shaped light array with adequate and legal illumination.
Once I painted the car in its conventional form the whole idea went out the window.
