Default Question about 1969 Headrests

New C3 owner. I bought my fathers car and am getting to know the platform a little better. I’m lucky enough to start with a really nice car.

He had the seats redone at some point along with the head rests. Unfortunately when the headrests were returned to him the underside was missing a cover(assuming there should be one). Right now there are many exposed staples and the headrests were never reinstalled. I found them in a box and would like to use them.

I’m looking for info on what was originally there or a picture of the underside of the headrests. I’ve looked a fair amount and haven’t seen the angle I need.

Thanks in advance for any help. I’m really excited to own the car that my parents have had for the last ~30 years.

pic for attention with my 51 in the background. You can see that my next project is diagnosing the wiper door. It bleeds off vacuum after the car sits for a minute or two. Also have a vintage air issue to address. lol

There is indeed a cover for the bottom - just glued. Just got mine back from Al Knoch. They are the only providers who can deliver a fully molded cover, just as GM did (no stitching).

Thank you @69L88

I don’t know who originally restore them but I’ll figure out a path forward.

Default Original headrests

My headrests are original, although I had to reglue the plastic covers back on recently.

I have these left over from my restoration. They’re still pliable and in overall good shape. They’re yours if you want them. Send me a PM.

Thanks to @69L88 for shipping me his extra bottoms. They cleaned up nice and the TN sun softened them for install. They’re not NCRS perfect but will do the trick.
