Default C3 Electrical Question

I have an issue with my 73 Corvette. I get shocked when I turn off my corvette while touching any metal. It’s not a small shock and I see it being an issue. How do I go about fixing this? Not touching any metal is a good start for me lol😂.

Check your ground strap. Make sure it is making good clean contact with the frame. Also check that the part of the car where you get shocked is also grounded.

Thank you for the quick reply. Where would the ground strap be located on a 73? The shock is definitely coming from the steering because it only happens when I’m touching the key guard area

If I had to guess, the shock has something to do with the buzzer in the horn relay/key in warning circuit.

Having just gotten a jolt when replacing broken plastic parts in my '72's upper column, I can unequivocally say that the horn button contact could be a culprit if it's somehow making contact with the housing.
