2 weeks after I commented on this post, my new seatbelt (although from Zip) did the same damn thing! Driver side lap belt.
After changing the seatbelts with F-body seatbelts years ago.
Now that I am replacing the seat covers and front carpet I bought a set from seatbelt plus and installed them last week Corvette America leather Seat covers
When you talk with Ecklers, ask them who their supplier/vendor is and please post.
I know there have been a few posts from members having problems with new seatbelts lately.
Some we’re too short, some wouldn’t retract or extend and now your spring issues.
I may just send mine out to be rebuilt at Snake Oyl.
The manufacturer is seatbelt solutions out of Jupitar Florida. Ecklers had me send it back directly to them to get fixed. They recieved my seatbelt on 7/20/2022 so we will see how long it takes to get back.

Ssnake Oyl seems like the best around. I know a few people who have had great experiences with them.

I believe that’s the same vendor others had problems with.
Just an update got the seatbelt back on 7/26/2022. Sent it on 7/20/2022. Might be awhile before I install it a month of over 100 degrees in Texas makes me not want to go into the garage.
