Default Engine Data Plates

Has anyone added an L82 data plate to their L82 console? I realize they stopped including these data plates after 1976 with redesigned consoles but I like the look and would like to add one to my 79. Anyone have a pic of a date plate added to a 78-80? Thanks

I think Ecklers and most likely other vendors, sell engine data plates for later model C3 Corvettes. These plates fit the later plastic console plates. They also were NEVER produced by GM, and simply are somebodies aftermarket invention to replicate what GM did sell on the earlier cars. They look nice, and would serve the same purpose. I believe they are made to fit on ashtray door.

Thanks for the reply. I did see those on Ekler’s but they are all out of stock so wasn’t sure if they’ve been discontinued? I was skeptical about the size but it makes sense it’s for the ashtray door.

I know Corvette Central offers the oem style data plates for the earlier C3’s.
You might want to check their website to see what they have for the later model years.
They are a great source for all parts.
I’ve been purchasing from them for the past seven years and everything I’ve received has been top quality and their customer service is awesome.
