Recently pulled a leaking SBC mechanical fuel pump. It was leaking gas around what appeared to be the rubber gasket seal of the main fuel pump body and pooling gas along the top indented rim of the upper fuel pump. There are (10) 1/4" screws that secure the top to the bottom of the fuel pump. Inlet and Outlet positions are located at 7 O'clock and 1 O'clock respectively if I use the pivot arm as the noon starting position for reference. I do not believe it is original to the car and I'm not really sure if it's even a 1969 Corvette fuel pump. Guessing HV fuel pumps were universally used Impala, Chevelle, Nova, Camaro, etc.
There are two stamp numbers on the underside of the flange the bolts up to the engine and they are 40083 and 246. Looking for some help to tell me what mechanical fuel pump is on the car and what the numbers mean.
My search so far only got me as far as it's a SBC high volume mechanical fuel pump that fits the following engines: 265, 283, 305, 307, 327, 350, 400, and 409.
For what it's worth my Chevy numbers book shows that this pump was used on 64-66 high performance 327's. I believe the 69 fuel pump was crimped together rather than bolted together.

Thanks for the info dan1495. There are a few things on this 1969 that do not belong there: after market alternator, blue distributor cap, SMOG pump is missing, rear shocks (Sears Easy Rider), rear strut rods (1973>) that have all been changed out on this car over the years. Guess I can add fuel pump to the list too. Bit of a magic trick trying to put it back together so it is at least NCRS correct.
