Not only are the rear wheel wells custom flared, the front end cap is fiberglassed into the nose.
The car has had extensive modifications by someone.

Could just be me, but I think modifications are much more the norm for European Corvettes than those found in North America. I think it looks darned fine. The flares are the right size for the wheels, which look pretty deep. The blended nose makes it appear sleeker - just be careful with any parking dings as I'd bet it will crack which means a more major repair than a stock front end.

As a 79 owner myself, I like it. As others already pointed out, there are definitely flares on the back and an 80-82 front bumper on it. I too would like to see more pictures of it. Congratulations on your new Corvette!

There's absolutely no doubt that the rear fenders have been flared.

Don't most European countries have rather specific laws about how fenders must completely cover tires? If so, I guess a previous owner wanted those much wider rear wheels and tires, and needed to modify the quarter panels to cover them.

Welcome to the Forum, and good luck with your new Corvette!
