If i had a later model small block car sure. They arent super powerful and they arent going to be able to do a lot of damage to it trying to do burnouts with a 200 HP car. My big block 5 speed 68, no way. It just whispers bad ideas in your ear every-time you start that engine. My 68 I would chauffeur someone around in.
What an arrogant shitty thing to say.
Just because someone has a later model SBC does not mean its 200 or less horse with a low value.
Thousands of later yrs C3 small blocks are pushing 430-500 horse. And some are worth more than a '68.
No, it would have to be a car specifically for rental. Low HP, automatic. I saw a whole list of rentals yesterday, Corvettes, exotics etc and they were all in the 500-800 a day range. I think the lowest was $330. $500 won't cover the deductible.
I drove a rental car off a loading dock once. When I returned the car they asked if I had any problems with my rental and I let them know the back doors didnt open.
My Corvette only has 2 doors so no, I wouldnt rent it. Need both to work.
Is this a serious question? Can't imagine anyone would consider renting there pride and joy. My partner wouldn't dream of sitting in the drivers seat!
What a horse **** question.
I have plenty of money. Even though my C3 is a bit of a beater and not worth a whole lot, it's not worth the hassle of renting it out for a couple hundred bucks.
"Trust, but verify"
So, unless you can verify that the renter knows how to drive, will be as careful with, and respect the car as much as you do, won't smoke in it and burn a hole in the seat, won't slam the door like an idiot, etc, etc, don't trust them.
I said at the start I could never let a stranger drive mine, and it looks like I'm not alone. I should of done a poll...
But to those of you who can.....you're making people happy. I've been reading some reviews.
It seems that taking Dad or Grandpa out for a ride on their birthday is real popular. Memories are being brought back.
And repeat renters. One guy liked a C2 so much he rented twice in one month....at $400 a pop!
apparently you did do a poll. everybody to nobody. the nays have it...
