A neighbor introduced me to the gang at Contemporary back in the late 90's. It was a 45 minute ride from my house. I got many good used parts off of them. Great to deal with. Thanks for posting Adam!

I haven't stopped by Contemporary in years, but most the 68-82's were picked over pretty good 15 years ago. Today they mostly part out 97 up cars, mainly for the LS motors. With all the restomods being built, they were struggling to keep up with demand for the LS motors. At one point they were buying every Impala SS, 90's full size wagon, GTO and big Caddy they could find, just for the LT and LS motors. Most of what they sell for pre 82 Corvettes now, I think are reproduction parts.
In the 70's there was a yard just across the river from Contemporary in NJ, that was full of 60's Corvettes. In the 80's the owner decided to get out of Corvettes and switch to Cadillac's. From what he told me, at the time he sold 10-15 semi loads of parts to someone in North Jersey, but I've never learned who, or where it all really went. You can still stumble onto some Corvette parts, wondering around there. There's still a couple mid year floor/cowl sections, and some other odds and ends.
I never get too upset looking at scrapped Corvettes, I always figure they gave their lives, so other Corvettes could remain on the road.

Although Contemporary Corvettes is an hour or so away from me, I have been there numerous times over the years for specific C3 parts. I do call in advance as they have a fleet of trailers filled with parts, and not just skeletons in the back yard. So not everything is advertised or if the website is updated as well as it used to be with a wreck of the month.
However, they are an efficient and knowledgeable group. Keep them in mind!
