Why is my fan running when key turned on 78?

what fans you running? pics? original ele fan with clutch fan?

Hello, I think he means the interior HVAC fan. On my '78 it does that. I think it's supposed to run with the key on> Regards, LowSporty

It also helps to keep the blower motor from locking up from lack of use.

Yes, that's my understanding of the reasoning for this. Chrysler also did this in the early 70's. Regards, LowSporty
