Default Hood Alignment Question

Looking for some help on where to start to remove the 1/4'' gap on the top of my hood. every thing else is aligned properly except the top of the hood.

See images

look under the sticker

Is this an easy fix? It looks like all I need to do is re-align the hoodpins and it should close flush, no?

I assume by the picture this is an aftermarket hood. So its difficult to diagnose the problem and a cure...
I'm guessing that if you look at how's its attached you'll figure a way to shim it. But the best way is to glass and shim

before paint

If you're talking about the hood being raised too much then you need to drop the pins on the latch some.
Lower the stop cushion out of the way completely, careful when closing the hood with the stop out of the way as it's in theory possible to push the mushroom pin up into the fiberglass

Then loosen the castle nut under the spring, hold it and thread the mushroom pin in some then snug up the castle nut, don't get too greedy, if you tighten it too much and have the alignment out you risk getting the hood stuck. Might want to tie some string to the latch releases on both sides just in case

There still needs to be a little spring movement left once it's adjusted

What Mooser said,,,, and make sure there isn't excessive rubber seals around the hood. Make sure your hood release is in good shape. I would spray a light coat of silicone lube on the latch, just to be sure it doesn't get stuck.
