Default Date Code Help
Having trouble reading the engine date code. It's on a 1980. Casting number is 3970010. Front engine numbers have been removed. Trying to figure out exactly what we have.

I agree but wanted a second opinion. So that would mean someone put a 1972 350 into the 1980 corvette at some point.

What is the length of the pad in front of the right head? Earlier 350’s were noticably longer than late 70’s and early 80’s. That might help get you in the right generation.
