Default Sun visors issue

Hi,

I'm super new at the forum, just got my C3 (1978 Pace Car) this week, and I'm struggling to understand how the sun visor works. It seems that something is wrong as you can see on the pictures - the driver's is turned to "inside" and the passenger's is to the other side (I think it's the correct side). But both doesn't do down... just move to the sides. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
There is a metal tube inside the visor that the mounting rods fit into. They can get seized up over the years for various reasons. Simple fix, just remove them, use a good
penetrating oil like PB Blaster and work the rods back and forth until they loosen up.
Cheers, Greg

It is very easy to rip or tear the vinyl so be careful. Here are some instructions on the removal of the visors There are crimps inside the visor that the rod slides in.

I used replacements on my PC from Corvette America, they looked like the originals and fit good....if you need to go that direction.

Agree with just working them back and forth a little at a time. Mine were the same way but some patience got them moving again. And they can move in or out on the rod and up and down.

Thank you for that tip. I ran out to the garage and followed your lead.

The visors are perfect now.

Much appreciated!

You can also replace the white plastic bushing on the shaft if it won't stay up. Pull the C-clip and pull visor out, then replace the bushing. Cheap and easy.
