Strange Staring Issue
About a 18 months ago, I rebuilt my Quadrajet on my 72 because it was having a hard staring issue. I sealed the well plugs that cause that issue. About 2 months ago, I started having what seemed like the same issue, except the fast idle also seemed lower than it had been. I've only driven the car a dozen times in that time.The car is all stock with a divorced choke. Inspecting the carb on the car, the only thing I noticed was a little gas seepage on the upper (air horn) gasket. So I bought a rebuild kit. Dissambled the carb and saw nothing of concern, so put it back together with new gaskets. I did not change anything on the choke settings or anything else. After reinstalling the carb, it started and ran like it was supposed to with proper fast idle. Strange,
