gas gauge calibration problem
Have 1972 C3 convert. Gas gauge shows empty when the tank is still 1/3 full. How do I adjust/recalibrate to make it more accurate? Thanks

Remove sending unit. Bend float arm rod to compensate. reinstall and test to see if you bent it enough. Repeat.

Lower. so it hits empty sooner. Plug in the wires with the sender out of the tank. Test it. then reinstall

You MAY want to bend it lower just enough that it still has 2 gallons of gas in the tank when the gauge shows "E" . It's better to be "running on empty" than stranded on empty.

That's impressive, you must have little stick arms as well. No bloody way my hand and arm are going to fit through the filler.
