Hi - I've got a measurement request for the front part of the battery cable. So I don't have to much or to little cable going to the starter I wanted to see if anyone that has a measurement from the end of the cable (where it attaches to the starter) and the first clip/stud (where it attaches to the body). This is for a 69 car. I did measure where the clips were on the old cable that came off but it had been replaced at some point and had a bit to much so it was sort of bound up against the firewall. I realize that the clip locations are sort of subjective but any help getting a measurement would be great.
If I remember correctly, it's approximately 11"-12" from the edge of the firewall to the end of the cable on an original car. Probably best to have someone confirm that, but I'm pretty sure that is the correct measurement.
Appreciate it, thanks! I did a quick measurement and got just shy of 12" from the end of the cable to the firewall. I'm hoping it's close...hard to move that bugger around when the insulation is up etc... especially once the body is back on.

That's what I discovered when I started restoring these cars years ago... And why i remember the distance!
I forgot that the 1969 Corvette that I'm working on hadn't been completely stripped yet... Wiring was still in place. Pretty original car and I'm sure that the cable hadn't been touched since it left St. Louis.
Distance from firewall to end of cable was 11.5"... So there's some definitive confirmation for you (and not just relying on my memory!).
