A friend of mine has a 68 convertible that his father bought new, and repainted with a pseudo Motion stripe back around 70-71 (dark green with a gold stripe). Somewhere around I have some pictures of it, but it has a hardtop on it. I've known the car for 30 years and don't ever recall seeing it with the hardtop off. It does look good though.
There's a show coming to Chicongo next month called MCACN. It is by far the best car show on the planet. It's here, https://www.mcacn.com/. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, especially on a 2 top car. The removable hardtop would easily carry that theme though.
