Default Fire extinguisher mounting

I’ve got a 1.25 lb halon fire extinguisher, about 11” in length and I’m trying to figure out a good location to mount it.
Up to now I’ve been keeping it inside one of the back compartments. Not liking the sound of it clunking around.
It’s got to be both out of the way but readily at hand. Ya, that’s asking for a lot I know but what have you guys come up with ?
Ive got a ‘68 convertible.
The only thought is either mounting it somehow on a bar attached to the lower front of the drivers seat so it slides forward or back with the seat or on the center compartment door behind the seats (?).
If you’ve come up with a good one a quick pic would be great

I've seen a couple that had modified this to fit in front of the seats.

Mines mounted to a bracket I made that bolts to the passenger seat frame, as you said, so it moves with the seat.

Use left first, when all else fails, the right is Purple K
I got the brackets from The Bracketeer. Simon was incredibly helpful - I needed a few little bits and he sent them right out. These weren't missing from the kit, but made the install much easier. I'm a total fan, got another one for my daily driver.

I welded up a bracket that attaches to the seat rail mounting bolts, as my seat is always in the rear position.

But have thought many times about mounting it to the seat it's self like Mooser the next time i take the seats out...

last time was in 2013 when i made the bracket...

I just bolted mine to the floorboard like a Redneck.
Just the other side of the hump.
Doesn't restrict seat movement.

I purchased an Element, I’ve been temped to try it out, just too satisfy my curiosity of it performance. If I do I’ll report back, I store it in rear storage compartment.

problem I see with this is I have folding chairs, towels, jackets, etc…
I’d have to dig thru that stuff to get at it.
Looks like the overwhelming consensus is to weld up a bracket to mount it in front of the seat.
A bit of advice, though a dry chemical extinguisher is better than no extinguisher in my experience they make more mess than the fire they put out. I spent more time cleaning up the chemical residue and repairing it’s corrosive effects on wiring and electrical components than I did fire damage. Trust me, pay up for a Haltron or Halguard clean agent extinguisher it’ll save you if you ever have to use it.

Unfortunately I got it from my milling machine but it was heavily "inspired" by one made by Brey Krause (goolge search that)

I put a couple strips of the sharp side of Velcro on the bracket that came with the extinguisher. It stays put wherever you put it on the carpet behind the seats. It doesn't "Velcro" to the carpet but it doesn't slide around.

I put Velcro on the extinguisher and I also put a strip on the carpet. It's planted in the right rear corner of the storage area.

I mounted mine facing forward on the top of the fender behind the drivers seat. Out of the way, but still readily accessible.

I just bought and installed the braketeer in my 78 and it’s great. Super easy install and sturdy. Only problem I have is I can’t use the seat position **** anymore with the screws locations, but I have the seat all the way back anyway so not a big deal.
