You do realise that a 77 Corvette never came with rear speakers. Anything is a aftermarket solution.
I just threw some old wedge shaped boxes in the bin that had been in the back of my 77 for 30 years.
You wouldn't have wanted to pay shipping from Australia anyway.
Bottom line. You can purchase a speaker bar and upgrade the speakers if your one of those stereo kind of guys. Or fab something up to fit in those back corners over the number 4 body mount.

A number of years ago, I upgraded the stereo in the '79 C-3 that my wife used to own, and I used boxes like that. At the time I got them through Crutchfield............

yes, of course I realize the 1977 Corvette does not come with rear speakers. And yes, it would be an aftermarket if it didn’t come with it. I was looking for some cabinets that you can buy to throw in the rear and attach to the wheel wells and no I wouldn’t want to pay shipping from where you’re from. HELL NO!! Yeah that speaker bar you’re talking about if that’s the one I think your talking about that goes all the way across they sell them for like 150 160 bucks pieces of garbage so I’m gonna go with the six by nines with some cabinets.

I replaced the rear storage covers with plywood. I cut the rear jack well storage and battery compartment well covers .. Mounted the speakers in the covers . Works well and is out of the way. I used 6x9 speakers.

After looking at what was out there I decided to make my own. A bit of work but I think they turned out great. I didn't like the look of the ones that did not go all the way to the deck. Material cost $25

That certainly doesn't look like a 77. So I'm thinking of little help.

The amount of "real estate" in the rear hatch area is similar, between the '77 model year and the later cars. The big difference is that the "bubble window" in the '78-'82s gives you more work room, while you're doing the install.........

My point was that you could make your own. Take care.

Make a template out of cardboard. Cut it out of wood and make a "mirrored" twin for the opposite side. Im in the process of building something for my '77. Ill post pics of the project when I get around to it, hopefully in the next few weeks.
Don't overthink it, its not that difficult of a project.

Default Nice job

You did a great job! Yeah, I was thinking about building my own too but I got too much stuff to do around the house so I just bought a set of empty cabinets from Eckler’s. Going to stick my new JBL three-way speakers in it but great job on yours

Sorry I didn't back to you sooner. It's a Sound Ordnance brand I got from Crutchfield.com

I'm doing what allen007 is doing using a kicker box sub but with the first speaker boxes ( see attached pic). T tops will still fit. Also have speakers under dash. Not the kick panels.

I built a custom box 15 years ago but the t tops wouldn't fit.

Default Not enough room for anything else.

The biggest problems with adding rear speakers to the rear of C3 Corvettes is that it often leads to not enough room to store your T-Tops. It only takes one time to rain on your parade when out cruising with your baby! The cabinets offered by InnovativeCorvetteProdicts.com are designed for T-Top storage. Check it out with the link I provided
