I recently upgraded my battery to starter power cable to 0/1 gauge. Im about to upgrade my alternator to battery cable to 4 gauge, but before doing so wanted to know if anyone had any experience changing this cable, it seems to run in the driver side frame. Is this an easy change out?

Year would help, but I doubt it runs through the frame on any year of C3.
I run a 140 amp alternator with an appropriate sized charge cable, through a flat blade fuse to the battery terminal on the solenoid. Working great for several years.
i think it goes into the engine harness and up to alternator. heading from starter to frame is the wrong direcrion. open up your harness at the alternator and the existing wire will tell you where it runs.
but a bigget PITA to run all the way to the battery. even regular cars with the battery closer to the alternator than the starter run the charge wire to the starter.
the charge cable goes into the frame rail under the driver side and k think it exits near the battery. But, I’m not sure if I needed to remove anything special or just pull it through to replace it.
From my '80 Corvette with the body off right now. Here are some photos of the charging line:

It looks like you can pull the wire through the frame as long as you can get to it. The hardest part might be at the rear as it wraps around the rear frame members.
