The ones on the back side of the door panels looked vaguely like those, held the deluxe trim onto the carpet edge ???

They hold your rear storage compartment to the body.

I will chime in that, they are exactly like the screw/washers that holds the chrome trim
( on the deluxe door card bottom ) for the carpet piece. I know because one of my screw/washers got lost and I ended up having to fabricate one. Of course after I put the door card back on the car, I found the screw/washer. There were special because of the “egg crate material.”

These screws, washers are polished which would tell me they are trim screws meaning they will be seen.

Hello Z51JEFF,

I wanted to confirm what was stated above. The screws you were wondering about are used to attach your rear compartment frame.

To confirm, check them along side a nickel.

This screw I removed from my rear compartment frame.

This screw is from an NOS Deluxe door panel

NOS Deluxe door panel

You can easily see that the captured washer used with the rear compartment frame screw is much smaller than the captured washer used with the door panel screw. As you mentioned earlier, these rear compartment frame screws have a much nicer finish (shinier) than the door panel screws.
