Default 1975 C3 Door/Window alignment

I've got a 1975 C3n roadster that I picked up last summer. It's a project. The engine and driveline are in good shape. Interior needs love and we're already in process of fixing her up. The paint is in good shape but the doors and water proofing need love.

The driver's door is definitely sagging and has been shimmed previously. There are gaps on that side still and I think more shimming is needed. The Passenger door simply won't close with the window up. Door closes fine with the window down. The gaps on the passenger door are even and seem aligned.

The previous owner stated the doors are 76 doors due to the 75 having been rotted. Does anyone have feedback on door interchangability? Could they be 76 roadster doors with coupe glass?

Thanks in advance.

Tim.

'75 was the last year for a Roadster so if the doors are '76 they're from a Coupe.

The doors are the same but the glass is different...

Understood. I was really struggling to find where that cut off was.

Thank you. We've got a friend with a 76. I think we'll meet up and compare to confirm prior to buying new glass.

Thank you for the input.

If I remember right, Roadster glass has a slope towards the rear. Coupe glass doesn't.

Default Hi and Welcome

Are the hinge pin bushings worn?
To test: open the door an inch or two and lift the rear of the door, if it moves up then the bushings are worn.
Corvette Central #283100.

Will the passenger door close with the window down an inch?
If yes then adjust the up stop.
'E' in the front and rear.

75 vert has these pins that go into sockets in the pillar to stiffen the body. i have seen some coupe doors with the cutout. some without. you can use coupe doors, but need to remove the socket the pin goes into or a door without the cutout will hit it.

This is awesome help everyone. we're currently pulling the entire interior and sorting out a crappy wiring job. We've got new carpet, new door panels and and the seats are being redone.

We'll get the doors sorted out on this prior to putting the interior in.

Thank you. We'll get back to you when we know what's going on. The door bushing seem fine. But the battery is currently disconnected why we deal with gauges and what not. The windows are down right now so we'll check ASAP.

Micah.

Yep roadsters and coup have different door glasses. To rear geometry is different. So if you have the wrong glass type the door will not close properly. Ike

plus they have different doors. you can interchange them, but that alignment pin for verts can not be installed in a coupe door. and the socket would have to be removed from b pillar for the coupe door to close if put in a vert..
