the J56 calipers that was standard on L88 cars had a heavier duty mounting brackets and the calipers had two pins, plus a prop valve. not sure what you mean by a "L" pad
While all L88s came with the J56 option, that option was available from 1966 to 1975 IIRC.
One 1969 L-88 was delivered without J-56 brakes under a COPO order. The rest of the 1967-1969 L-88s were equipped with J-56. Your comments on availability are absolutely correct… J-56 from 1966 to 1969 (1967 to 1969 with L-88 only), 1970 to 1972 as part of the ZR-1 and ZR-2 options, and 1973 to 1975 as part of the Z-07 option.

The seller shows a photo of a magnet not being attracted to the backing plates. The originals were made from inconel which is a high temperature nickel alloy which is non-magnetic. $275 seems like a deal… I remember about ten years ago an nos set of pads would set you back $1000.
