Door install empty?
Another member showed how to make a door lift by using a DIY padded frame bolted to a motorcyle/car transmission hydraulic lift........
The outer shell of the door fits against the front of the fixture and gets strapped to the fixture to hold the door solidly while it is positioned...which makes installlation a One-Person job.
SILLY ME...I ALREADY POSTED THESE PICS IN ANOTHER THREAD

read some threads say you should get all the guts in while on a table (much easier), others say wait till door installed.
I remember we chatted about what that “jail” was for. 😂
I've done door rebuilds on too many C3 to count. Hang them empty as they are pretty light. No need for anything fixtures of any kind. Mount the hinges to the body, grab the empty door, sit on the sill while resting the door on your knee. Slide the hinges into the openings on the front door and line up the holes and toss a bolt in each hinges and tighten until snug enough to keep them in place. Install the remaining bolts but do not completely tighten them. The bolts only need to be tight enough so one can still move the door with a bit of force/pressure. Carefully close the door to check fitment. Open and close the door while holding it firmly in postion. Adjust as need for proper alignment and fitment then tighten all the bolts. Re-check fitment and you're ready to load them. No need to struggle with and waste money on jigs. It's so much easier to install the internals with the door hung than wrestling with it laying flat. Again, I've done this numerous times. I just finished these last week. Good luck with your project!

I think the alignment should be very close as DUB had already worked the gaps.

I know with other makes, if you align the door while it is empty, they then always sag when loaded with hardware.
