Default Windshield wiper not making contact

Getting my 1977 back on the road. Im at the point where i'm tidying up the little things. I just replaced the wiper blades and the drivers side is not making good contact with the windshield. It has contact at the top and bottom of the blade, but not the middle across the entire wipe. Before I start bending arms, is there something else I should be looking at?

Are you using the correct blade? What manufacturer and part number?

Trico Gold (16") 18-1616. They do fit and clear the hood when in rest position.
They are universal fit and have the hole for the post style application. The passenger side works fine, but the drivers side does not. I could bent the arm to give it some more pressure against the windshield, but wanted to see if there was another option before I do that.

From pictures that looks like a modern beam blade. Before bending anything I would try the conventional linkage blade that was originally on the car.

Try NAPA part number WIP 16-0161.

If your using a complete new blade assembly that includes the rubber blade you could try bending it.
If your using a new rubber refill in your original blade assembles no way would I bend anything...
Finding the correct refill can be challenging, the 77 could have had either Anco or Trico wiper blade assembles installed from the factory.
Each uses there own refill.
The original blade assembly should be stamped either Anco or Trico, my 77 uses the Anco refill.
The way the refill blade locks into the blade assembly differs between the two.
The Trico uses the spring clip on the end, the Anco uses the 2 rubber molded squares as stops, I show only one in this photo, but they were spaced equally from each end.
