Can anyone give me the approximate time in production that the early wiper grill was transitioned away from to the later grill? Thanks, Terr
Just throwing this out there: If the two grilles carried different part numbers, the assembly manual may have a line change date and description on the grille installation page.
Basically at the location of the wiper squirters, there was a little cut-out that the squirter poked through to let washer fluid hit the windshield at a decent spot. Later cars removed the cut out and used a different squirter. There are three different pairs of squirters used in 68 that were adapted to the wiper grill. The early grills were fragile and prone to breaking at the notches. Unbroken originals are kinda hard to find. I believe the part number changed to a new number when the second design came out. I think there was actually a 3rd part number that might have come out for 69 and later cars. Its been a while since I dealt with this. Terr
