Since you offered, when I got the Vette I sourced this maintenance schedule. I have all the other things people recommend....AIM, Repair Manual, 1969 Guidebook, etc. However, what I'm most concerned about is PREVENTATIVE maintenance. Most of us don't drive our cars this many miles, so the distance recommendation for the maintenance schedule is not relevant. What I'd like is a better gauge on when preventative maintenance beyond basics (oil change) should be performed. If you have any guidance or can point me to some schedule more realistic, I'd appreciate it.
Guy, I'm trying not to "waffle" here. My maintenance on my vehicles and motorcycles is a piecemeal conglomeration of 50 yrs. [since 1972] of experience, reading, education [technical college] trial and error, other guys opinions and experience, common sense, etc. I pretty much know what needs immediate attention, what can be "let go" for a later date, forgotten about, and everything in between. Don't "overthink" it, it complicates matters, It sounds you are doing this sometimes. Start with the owner's manual and go from there. Some things are glaringly obvious [oil change intervals] others not so much [grey areas] "Overkill" can be bad. The ability to know when to f...k with something or get help [ask this forum like you did] or pay a shop is "golden" There's alot to be said for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" within reason, of course. There are some maintenance items I perform religiously "by the book", there are some I actually do sooner, i.e. spark-lugs are relatively cheap. and some I just "put-off". Always Safety First though! Every vehicle in my garage [Corvette, Pick-Up, Wife's car, 3 Harleys] are ready to drive/ride. Nothing needs oil changed or added, air filter changed or cleaned, fluid checked etc. Tire pressure is pretty much constant. Also, I am severely OCD. Keep in mind, what works for some does'nt necessarily work for all. The schedule you posted looks pretty much "all encompassing" Hope these ramblings help, LowSporty

Post a couple of pictures of the passenger side of your engine compartment. The bypassing hose arrangement would be typically identifiable and we can point it out.
