A couple months ago I searched several posts to figure out the best grease for the chassis and various zerks under my manual 78, and Lucas Oil Red n Tacky was the one that came up the most, so I used it and well I’m not impressed. Maybe this is nothing, but I didn’t have this issue before, because now the grease is liquifying and dripping everywhere I greased. It’s worse when the car is hot, but I’ve noticed it while it’s cold as well. Is this normal with this kind of grease and does anyone have any recommendations for something better? I’m tired of cleaning my garage floor.
I also use red n tacky and I know about the liquid too from storing the grease gun in the bottom drawer of my tool box. Made a mess. Now I leave it in the drain pan. To be honest my joints don't leak nor did the u joints on my old Toyota Tacoma ether. When I grease I only give a 1/4 of a pump.
Edit: are you sure that's grease? It looks more like motor oil.

1) color of the grease has nothing to do with it’s performance
2)grease has a “dropping point”. That’s the temperature the oil in the grease separates from the soap or carrier.
3) tackifiers make grease sticky. Some tackifiers make grease stickier in wet conditions
4)grease has a shelf life 3-5 years - don’t hold me to this one.
5)manufactures product data sheets list the dropping point & other specs
6)grease has a spec for water wash off or spray off.

Ugh! That looks messy! I can't understand why anyone would recommend it.
The GM spec is 6031-M, which is NLGI #2, so basically any good EP grease, such as Valvoline General Purpose, Castro LM, etc.
This is chassis grease, you're going to be re-greasing at least every year, so it's not something to overthink. Just don't buy a cheapo grease, any good NLGI Cat2 grease will be fine, for years.

I almost went with Valvoline General Purpose before I chose Red N Tacky, but now I learned my lesson and with try that in the future.
I made the mistake of getting the valvoline red general purpose grease. In less than a year it was only red oil in my grease gun. I use Valvoline multi-vehicle moly-fortified grease. The tube says for superior performance. Lou.
