I'm thinking about putting a 76 steering wheel in my 75 and got a few questions. Tilt/tele in the 75,the parts I'll need for the 76 wheel is the lock ring, column collar and horn button. Are the horn contact parts the same between the 75/76?
Say what you want about the -VEGA- wheel, years ago that was the wheel everybody wanted in their car. And its commonly referred the as a GT wheel. So,in a sense I'm reliving a bit of my youth by putting one of these wheels in my 75.
I have a friend with a 76. I drove his car the other day.
inspite of the Vega name. It's really not a bad looking wheel.
I'm still keeping the leather wrapped wheel in my 77 nonetheless.

I was into H bodies during high school and owned a '77 Vega and '78 5.0 Monza. The Monza was a tire vaporizing beast!
I'm in the market to buy another, preferably a survivor in nice shape, and I only wish they were as cheap to buy as a soft bumper C3!
This common critic of the named "vega" steering wheels always makes me laugh. As others have said,....maybe the Vega has a Corvette steering wheel. People complain about the steering wheel in the C6 Corvette as also used in other cars of that era. What REALLY matters is if its a nice looking steering wheel.......whomever it is shared with. I like the 76 steering wheel.....its got a nice shape, and a nice grip. THAT is all that matters. Its looks right for the car.

Camaro/Chevelle/Nova/Monte Carlo/El Camino/Vega....even the GMC Sprint got this wheel.
And when I took delivery of my '76 I actually preferred it over the '75 & earlier because of the smaller diameter & thicker grip.
But when that beautiful 3 spoke leather wrapped wheel came out the following year....man-o-man.
All of a sudden it looked like a cheap POS to me...that belonged on a Vega.
I'm looking for all of the hardware,I plan on buying a new wheel. I'm looking for the hub, collar, tele lock ring and anything else that goes with the 76 wheel.
