Took long enough! I remember when I bought the car in 2011 it felt like you could read a book before hitting 60mph(stock L48 1975).
Now, I landed a 4.6 second 0-60 today.
Still feel likes it’s not fast enough lol, but I’m concerned the drivetrain is going to need some work if I keep on

It’s nice to not have an ultra rare low mileage pristine c3.
I like being able to customize/personalize and make the car what you want. And not worry about driving the snot out of it.
Mines a 1975 with a 81 front clip, lowered, and a hood scoop. The engine is typical modernized sbc with 64 cc aluminum heads, flat top pistons, healthy cam
I am interesting in hearing what you did to the car to get that performance.
355 small block, flat top pistons
64cc estreet heads,
cam is .49”/.49” lift 292/302 duration
edelbrock performer eps manifold
holley 950
Headers
36 degrees timing at 2400rpm
High stall converter that flashes at 3100 rpm
Very sticky 255/60/r15 Mickey Thompson ET super streets
i also have a 125 shot NOS wetshot but that was not used in this run
honestly I think the torque converter and tires made a huge difference. The car launches hard and has hardly any wheel spin.
My C6 is supposed to do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat and feels like it'll do that all day. My '72 probably is more like 6 seconds and feels like it's on the verge of breaking something (manual trans) every time. Your profile indicates that you have exhaust cutouts. Are they electric and where did you find the spot to install them?
Behind the crossmember is my H pipe and both cutouts are installed right after that, pretty much right inboard of the tires. And yes, electric, remote fob

Thanks for the picture, but it's hard to see if there's a "y" pipe before the cutouts. Do you have mufflers back there or do you have side pipes?
I got rid of the stock Y pipe, went for
headers into duals with an H pipe. On either side of the spare tire I have two dynomax bullet style mufflers. The cutouts are on the straight run before it curves up to the mufflers.
I’m a big fan of the cutouts. Awesome loud open header SBC when you want, or easy to live with muffled exhaust for cruising.

Good job on having a 4 second car!!! Are you going to hit your Nitrous in a 0-60 time or a quarter mile pass....I dont thiink it would help in the 0-60, just burn your tires off...If you want a quicker time you could change your tranny first gear ratio or your rear end ratio

Thanks! I’ve used the NOS at the track for 1/4 mile. The biggest change here was the high stall converter. I’m really looking forward to some tracks opening this spring and seeing what my new 1/4 time is
