Default Need help with ‘68 steering column wire identifying

Im swapping out my factory non-tilt steering column in my ‘68 for an Ididit universal column. Both connectors have 8 wires but the IDIDIT has a flat connector and the factory column has a curved connector. Id like to cut the flat connector off and splice in the curved factory connector but I need to match wires. Does anyone know what each color is?

Dont cut anything yet.
First check out the Summit racing website. They sell adapter harnesses just for this purpose. Plug and play.

Whoops, too late. I found the schematic and it was fairly easy.

Looks like this would have worked. 67 68 vette. Good luck with the new column.

Also you can take the pins out of the connectors and just put them back in the round connector. I have done it this way on a few columns. A very small flat blade screwdriver pushed in will bend down the tang and the pin will come out. Just need to figure which is top and bottom and each pin may be upside down from the one next to it. Definitely don't cut wires. Five minutes you will have them out. Then just bend the tang back up a little and slide in the other connector.

On second glance, it looks like the terminals in the rounded connector are different than the flat one. Can you confirm? My experience is on a 69 where the terminals are like the flat connector in your picture. Either way, don't cut any wires.
