68 327 cold start issues
I have recently moved my 68/327 to Naples, Florida
(Along with the 74 Ghia…the ‘Cuda under restoration this winter)
Was fully tuned before leaving Rhode Island with the addition of replacing points and condenser with electronic
It always started poorly…since I’ve owned it..It doesn’t get driven a lot and takes a while to get fired off
Once running…it’s good for the day
First key turn
I’ve noticed here in Florida..if I give it a shot of carb cleaner when cold..it fired right off and runs perfectly for the day.
No issue restarting..even 5 hours or so later
It getting gas and spark
Too rich?
Thoughts anyone?
BTW….it’s awesome being able to take it out in January
Have you checked to see if the choke plate closes fully?
Have you checked all of the vacuum lines and ensured they are properly connected to their respective fittings?
Have you checked to see if the accelerator pump is functioning?
Is the carb original to the car?
