Default Eggcrate paint

Can someone post a picture of a correct painted 1970 side grille. How shall the area where the upper and lower horizontal line meets the front edge be painted?

Hakan

Here you go. FYI, car was repainted by a previous owner. I know mine's a 72 but, should be the same.

Correct, I had forgotten about the '70's having painted vertical edges that were tapered.

According to the GM Parts Catalog, 1970 to 1972 are the same fender louver.

The '70 to '72 eggcrate subject has been discussed several times over the years. Some say that late '70's might have the '71 style.

With all due respect, it doesn't change the fact that for all intents and purposes, 1970 to 1972 Corvette front fender louvers are the same.

The correct part numbers and one year only design is very important too me as a owner of a 1970.

My '70 louvers are original paint, and are '70 style. Mine is a June build car, fairly late, however still the '70 design.

FWIW: The part numbers for the 70 louvers are 3966797 and 3966798.
3995017 and 3995018 are original for 71 and 72, service replacements for 70.
