Does anyone know of a source for the rear speaker harness? I’m looking for the one that goes from the rear speakers to the C127 connector that is under the LH side of the dash, 4 wires. I’m trying to clean up some of the audio wiring mess that the previous owners “mechanic” left behind.
I believe the Lectric/Limited harness #VRR7800RS is only from radio to front speakers, & has the pigtail connector for the rear speaker harness not available.
The 2 PACK-CON II connector housings at C127 are:
Male: Delphi/Packard #8917541
F/M: Delphi/Packard #8917542
Unfortunately the F/M connector #8917542 is not available.
If I can make a suggestion, why not change from a PACK-CON II style to a 4 wire series 56 terminals & housings?
The link below of the terminals and connector housings are still the locking style and would be period correct.

Then build your own rear harness to speakers with either GXL or SXL automotive wire.
SXL and GXL automotive wire is rated the same but the SXL is standard wall thickness vs GXL wall thickness is smaller in diameter for hard to fit areas.
The connector housings at speakers are also not available.
Its the 900RS that includes the rear harness...when at Carlisle I talked to the rep directly and checked it before departure. You'll see the four connectors on the harness.

Ok, I see what the difference is...
Using a 1979 radio harness with rear speakers eliminates C127 and the extension harness completely.
It is a substitute harness...make sense...
So all radio speakers front & rear are connected directly from a single harness vs 2 separate harness that the 1978 diagram calls out for.

Yes! As you described it, I now recall asking the same question and getting the clarification you describe.
