Hello, everyone. I had my early ‘69 lap belts restored, and installed today with my new Al Knoch seats.
Unfortunately, the driver’s side lap buckle no longer “catches” and locks into the “female end.” When I press the button and look inside there’s no movement. The problem is on the female end.
I left a message for the seat belt restorer, but it’s after hours and they are closed for the weekend. I was hoping that this is something I can fix this weekend, without having to take the seats out and belts out to send back. Is there some sort of pin or bolt adjustment I can do to it? The passenger side one works just fine.
The passengers side works fine. Look into that one to see what you can. Then into the non working one. Anything different??
try spraying some Teflon type spray lube in there. See if that frees up the catch.
Only ideas I have.
Thanks. Yes, when I push the release button on the passenger side, I can see something moving inside of the unit. There’s nothing visible going on inside the driver’s side.
