Hello all,
I have completed a full restoration of the 1980 and ended up with a part which I don’t remember where it goes after 2 years. Age has something to do with it I guess 😅
At one point there was a rod that looks like vaguely similar to that. It went from the bottom of the rad cradle up to the nose brace of the car. Not sure if the later models had those still?

I agree with Mooser, I have a 78 and that exactly what I thought.
I think the equivalent piece in an 80 has a threaded end, and a loop to secure the vacuum reservoir (coffee can) spot welded in the center. Photo below, from eBay. So perhaps that is a spare piece from an earlier car?
Your car looks beautiful, BTW, but you probably hear that a lot.
Having spent time in Abu Dhabi I sure hope that you have a good cooling system a functional Air Conditioner on a Black Corvette in the U.A.E.
That is the hottest place I have ever been to on this planet of ours. Over 120* (f) with 90% Humidity after Midnight in the city of Abu Dhabi. It is so hot in Abu Dhabi that they have active refrigeration on their Swimming Pools at the hotels.
I would imagine that you are going to have some fun on the highways of the U.A.E.! I just wish the Police would stop putting in those darn speed bumps....
