I would not ever take to Paul's chroming. My experience was not with his work but rather bad customer service.

These people do excellent work:

I had them refinish all of my chrome and stainless. Now, that was 13 years ago and still looks great.

Sherms but way over priced. You could take it down to TJ. Lots of people around my area does that.

I recommend Sherm’s if quality is important to you. Other wise you might try Classic Chrome both shops are in Sacramento. Sherm’s plating is done in house, Classic Chrome and most other shops send your parts out for plating.

I just went to one of the highly recommended chrome shops in Houston last week. I like to die with the prices quoted. 1K for the front and 600 each for the rears. I'm sure they did great work, but that's too rich for me.

I traded for the work. I had triples of all of the stainless, door post, windshield post and bumpers. I gave them all of my extra parts and they did the work for free. It was funny because I was so trustworthy. They were showing their work at a corvette show in downtown Chicago. I asked if they would want to come out and see all of the parts and what I wanted done. That night their entire family came over and left with everything. 12 months later they called and we drove down to their place to pick up all of the parts. Everything was there. On the way home we hit a major storm which soaked everything down (even tornadoes were happening).

Now, for Paul's chroming. I set up a meeting (before we moved to Chicago) at Carlisle weeks in advance to discuss the same thing. At the time, I had three corvettes with all of the chrome and stainless steel. I was there for the meeting when I was suppose to have my time with Paul or whoever when someone interrupted our conversation. This person asked if he could chrome 15 lots of reproduction windshield post for C1s. Paul or whoever flat out dropped our meeting and talked to that guy. My offer was not even heard. Like I said I had triple of all of those parts so you figure what that was worth. I had three complete sets of stainless steel, bumpers, windshield and door posts. All in decent condition to make someone a good deal.

They are honest and do good work. Sherms was way out of my price range. Lots of guys take things down to TJ. I would talk to any restoration shop to get the contacts down in TJ. That was going to be the first option for me when I lived in CA.

Did you give them a call?

Gone are the days of a good, reasonable priced shop within 100 miles of anyone in the country.
